Shopify API Scopes
Analyzify integrates with Shopify and requests certain API scopes to function. These scopes allow Analyzify to read specific types of store data to enable marketing attribution, performance tracking, and analytics services. Below is a breakdown of each scope, what data it involves, and how Analyzify uses it:
- read_customer_events: This permission allows us to read our Web Pixel data which we add during the setup in your Customer Events section. We do not access any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) unless you have explicitly shared it through other permissions.
- write_pixels: This permission allows us to register and manage Web pixels in your Shopify store as Analyzify under the Customer Events tab for accurate marketing and ad performance tracking. We only use this to help you manage our pixels.
- read_orders: Enables us to read order data including items purchased, order value, and timestamps. This is essential for revenue tracking, conversion tracking, and performance measurement. We use order-level customer data to match conversions, make audits on your store and provide your analytics reports.
- read_script_tags / write_script_tags: These permissions are needed to manage our old tracking scripts on your store. Some clients use script tags to track but this feature is deprecated by Shopify. That’s why we are deleting those scripts and updating our client’s setups.
- read_themes: Required to detect theme changes. This is necessary to make sure Analyzify App Embed codes are enabled on your live theme.
